Mesh health checks

A health check shows how far your node reaches: you get a short code from your community's checker, send it from your node, and listening radios report who heard it. Mesh Dispatch only listens: below is what our radio heard, so you can see the repeaters that carry checks near you.

How to run a check

1. Add the channel to your radio: in the MeshCore app, add a hashtag channel named exactly as below (with the #). It needs no password.
2. Open that channel's checker in a browser and press the button to get a code. Codes look like MHC-1A2B3C and last a few minutes.
3. Send just the code on that channel from the node you want to test. Nothing else in the message.
4. Watch the checker: each observer that hears your code lights up on its map, with the path it took. More observers means better reach.
5. No one heard it? Try again from higher up or outdoors, check the channel name, and see why you might not be heard.
