How HelloDigital.co handles information on dispatch.hashtagplus.com. The short version: we log public radio traffic, we do not read private messages, and we use basic web analytics. Last updated October 9, 2026.
| Information | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Public radio messages: the text, channel, time, the sender name as broadcast, hop count and signal strength, from public hashtag channels and the default Public channel. | To run the searchable archive and public Messages page. | Kept until removed on request. Backups (7 daily, 5 weekly, 12 monthly) age out, so a removed item leaves the backups within about 12 months. |
| Raw radio packets as received, including encrypted direct messages and private-channel traffic we cannot read, with the relay path each took and which of our receivers heard it. | Network health statistics (hops, relays, busy hours) and decoding public channels we add later. | Kept until removed on request; backups as above. |
| Per-sender summary: how many messages a broadcast name sent and when it was first and last heard, and automatic flags on messages that look like complaints or abuse. | The public sender pages, the bot directory, and moderation. | Kept until removed on request. |
| Node adverts: a node's name, role and, if the operator chose to broadcast it, position. | The Repeaters page and hop counts. We store the position the node broadcast, but show only an approximate distance and direction. | Kept until removed on request. |
| Forms you submit (for example suggesting a bot): the details you type, and an optional contact address. | To list or review your suggestion. The contact address is private and never shown. | Until you ask us to delete it. |
| A keyed, scrambled code made from your network address, for form submissions only. | Rate limits and spam prevention. We do not store the address itself. | With the submission. |
| Radio models: the hardware a Meshtastic radio reports about itself, a radio its owner names in a public message ("I'm running a T-Deck"), and the radio a visitor picks under Settings → My radio, with an optional node name. | The Devices page and the Device line on sender pages. Settings picks are counted anonymously and marked "not checked". | Until you ask us to remove it. |
| Approximate area from your network (city level, supplied by Cloudflare), or your device's location if you tap "Use mine". | To centre the radar near you. Rounded to about 1 km. | Not stored. Your choice is kept only in your browser. |
| Web analytics: page views, approximate location, device and browser, through Google Analytics. | To understand how the site is used. | Per Google's settings for our property. |
Cloudflare delivers and protects the site, so it processes visitors' network addresses and requests. Google Analytics and Google Fonts load from Google and may set cookies or process your address and device details; see Google's policy. Short summaries of channels are written by an AI model that runs on our own equipment, from messages with sender names, @mentions and links removed; suggested descriptions are reviewed by an admin before they are shown, and some starting descriptions were written with AI help. If we ever use an outside AI provider for this, we will name it here first. Weather comes from the U.S. National Weather Service.
Our server also counts views of each page per day, and which website a visitor came from (its name only, such as a search engine). It stores no cookies, network addresses or device details for this, and skips automated visitors.
We count which buttons and settings people use (for example the radar's Distance or Hops view, or which look they pick) through Google Analytics, to put the most-used options first. These counts carry no message text, names or locations. Your own settings (look, theme, units, radar defaults, your radio) are saved only in your browser.
Links to Amazon on the Devices and sender pages are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, HelloDigital.co earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. It helps pay for this free site.
Our server sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga) on this site to count visits. You can block them in your browser or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because the only tracking is the analytics described here.
The Service is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
The admin area needs a login, the archive is backed up, and public pages are tested not to expose internal details. No system is perfectly secure. Radio messages on public channels are readable by anyone with a radio; do not send private details over them.
We will update this page when our practices change. Questions: [email protected].
